Marcus, Paul

Paul Marcus: Media artist, painter, The Hague art circle Gymnasium and university in the Marxist GDR. Studied German and history. In 1957 he was expelled from the country, he did not want to become a West German citizen. With a refugee pass and a monster booklet, he followed the hippie trails of this world. Sailor, factory worker on the assembly line, etc. Settled in The Hague in 1965, became a Dutch citizen. Took painting lessons from Miep de Leeuwe and Willy Rieser. Has had exhibitions and work in the Netherlands and abroad, including Switzerland, Spain, France and Germany. The work is in very good condition and is framed in an aluminium frame behind anti-reflective glass.
