Henk Rijzinga 1946 - 2013 HENK RIJZINGA, born 28-4-1946 in Uithuizen and died 4-4-2013 in Amsterdam, painter, sculptor and activist. Henk Rijzinga was self-taught and active as a visual artist since 1972. His studio was based in Amsterdam. He made free work (paintings and sculptures) and also carried out projects in public spaces.He called his painting ?musings or reflections on the landscape, abstract but with a figurative slant. Rijzinga always combined his craft as a visual artist with the political side of things. During the hectic time of the abolition of the BKR, he was president of the Union of Visual Artists. He has always looked for a combination with politics, for the interface with society. As chairman for a long time, he was the face of Arti et Amicitiae Amsterdam and was a member of the Commissie Beeldende Kunstopdrachten Amsterdam. Comes from the collection of the municipality of The Hague, The Netherlands.
