Michel CÁRDENAS (Espinal 1934 - Amsterdam 2015) Handsigned, numered and dated. Education: Michel Cardena received his education at the Escuela de Bellas Artes Bogota. Cardena taught for 20 years at the AKI Enschede and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, among others. In 1986, he decided to return to his original artistic discipline: painting. Michel Cardena came to the Netherlands from Colombia in 1962. The Netherlands was attractive for artists at that time. In 1964 - 1964 Cardena participated in the exhibition Pop Art and New Realism which traveled via Rotterdam, The Hague to all the major museums in Brussels, Vienna and Berlin.
