Handsigned and numbered in pencil by the Artist comes with frame and Passe_partout. Nieboer (1940-2002) wanted to become a farmer or an artist after hbs, but his father thought it would be better for him to study. He studied psychology for a blue Monday and then made the switch to art after all. He was trained at the Instituut voor Kunstnijverheidsonderwijs in Amsterdam (1962-1963) and took the evening course at the Arnhem academy of visual arts (1964-1965). Nieboer worked for some time as an industrial designer and was also active as an artist. He made mostly cosmic objects in metal, plastic and wood, painted still lifes, among other things, and also made graphic work such as etchings and wood prints. He taught in Amsterdam and was a teacher at Minerva Academy in Groningen for twenty years. Among his students were Albert Geertjes, Radboud Houtman and Tiddo Nikkels. Nieboer exhibited several times and had solo exhibitions at various galleries, including that of his wife Jacoba Wijk in Wehe-den Hoorn, and at the Groninger Museum (1984, 2001). In 1989 he received the presentation subsidy from the Ministry of Welfare, Public Health and Culture, a temporary replacement for the Visual Artists Scheme. He lived the last years of his life in Saint-Christophe-en-Boucherie, France, and died at the age of 61 in a hospital in Narbonne. His last design was The House, which he made as part of Knowledge Years 1994-2014, an art project of the University of Groningen. It was executed by Harm van Weerden in consultation with his widow.
