Sees Vlag (Gouda, 15 July 1934 - The Hague, 1 January 2018)
Was a Dutch artist, graphic artist and painter. Vlag was best known for his architectural linocuts and screen prints in pastel shades. One of his best-known works was: ´s-Gravenhage - Dagelijkse Groenmarkt (1984) consisting of 84 prints. Vlag mainly incorporated Hague cityscapes and industrial monuments in his oeuvre, but also worked on commission for UNICEF and the NS, among others. From 1954 to 1959, he studied at the Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. Vlag was a prominent member of the artists' association Pulchri Studio during his active years. On 1 January 2018, he passed away following a heart attack. Sees Vlag was 83 years old.
