BERTIN Pierre was born in 1926 and died in 2006. He is a painter, sculptor, engraver and muralist. The artist worked in all media of visual art, using ink, colour ink, gouache, oil, collage, textile compositions, sculptures (with several materials)... From 1967 to 1970, he was a professor at the École des beaux-arts de Québec. He has participated in numerous art events, salons, solo and group exhibitions. His works can be found in important collections in various countries such as Germany, England, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the United States, France, Israel, Japan, Monaco, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland. He studied at the Collège St-André and the Collège Moderne et Technique in Reims. Then he attended courses in Paris at the Ecole des Travaux Publics and at the Ecole Universelle. Then he studied at the Blot School, the National Institute of Painting and Decorating in Reims, from 1941 to 1944, he finished first in his class with honours. He then attended the School of Fine Arts and Applied Arts in Reims and finally the "Morizard" decorator courses.
