Rene Genis, who was born in 1922, was a 20th century French painter renowned for his landscapes and still lifes and for his palette of very transparent blues and greens. Genis studied at the ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, then at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
