Dussart, Ghislain

GHISLAIN "JICKY" DUSSART (FRENCH, 1926-1996) Guislain 'Jicky' Dussart was best-known as the friend and personal photographer of Brigitte Bardot, but he was also a fine artist specializing in cubist compositions of figures and abstracts. Dussart worked as a press photographer for Paris Match, a weekly magazine of images and news stories published in France beginning in 1949. Dussart met Bardot in 1953 while visiting the actress's sister. He contributed images of her to Paris Match and later, Dussart would make photo collages as fine art which included images of Bardot and actress Anna Karina (his romantic interest). The Museum of Contemporary Art Krakow held an exhibition of these works in 2013.
